Fanna Norrby

*Fanna Norrby was born on this date in 1990. She is an Afro Swedish (Black Swede) freelance writer, lecturer, and activist.

Fanna Ndow Norrby was born in Stockholm and has studied strategic communication and public relations at Berghs school of communication. In 2015, she released the book Black Woman via the book publisher Natur och Kultur. The book is based on her Instagram account of the same name, where black women talk about the sexism and racism; they encounter in Sweden today. In addition to the testimonials from the Instagram account, twelve writers participate, including Adam Tensta, Valerie Kyeyune Backström, Judith Kiros, Salem Yohannes, and Amie Bramme Sey.

With her cousin, the journalist Amie Bramme Sey, she runs the podcast Raseriet. The pod was nominated in 2016 for the Grand Feminist Award by the magazine Feminist Perspective. She is also an ambassador for the Swedish fundraising foundation Kvinna till kvinn which works for women's human rights. She has a blog on Metro Mode [9] and is a recurring writer on Politics. In 2016, Norrby won the Grand Communication Award in the Young Talent of the Year category. Norrby hosted SVT Edit's initiative "We can't do it" in 2017, a program series on stress and fatigue syndrome among young women in Sweden.

She is the host of SVT's cultural program Kulturveckan, which premiered in 2018. The book was set up as a 24-hour black woman by the Riksteatern with a premiere in February 2019. Norrby wrote the script.
