#44 OPENED THAT DOOR by Marjorie J. Frazier

Shirley came a-knockin’,

Jesse raised the floor,

But it was President Barack Obama

Who finally opened that door!

The door to dreams hoped for,

To reach the highest stars,

To realize our greatest potential,

To break through any bars!

Now youth can look upward,

And the old can release their tears,

‘Cause what Martin spoke in earnest,

That someday is now here.

Yet, the battle isn’t over,

The trophy isn’t won,

It’s just a new beginning,

With limits owned by none!!
